There are several trails in Cuyahoga National Park. The one which we hiked was Stanford Trail to reach Brandywine Falls.

The trail starts behind the Stanford House. There is parking space available if you start your trail here. (Or you can park at the visitors center). Look for the trail head at the back of the visitor information board. At the entrance of the trail there is a camping ground, as you walk further you will enter the woods. There are facilities (water/ restrooms) available near the entrance.

The trail is lush with greenery in the summer and is moderate to densely populated with trees. There are a few small creeks/ runs to cross on the way. Beware during rain, the path is very slippery and one can easily injure themselves if tread without caution. (It was raining when we went!!). Elevation is around 190ft which is manageable. There is also a flight of stairs made up wood blocks at one point. The scenery along the trail is very enjoyable, calming and relaxing. Trail maps are available at the visitor center. I have also attached the trail map below.

At the end of the trail there is 60ft stunning waterfalls. The Water roars down the falls in full force and the view is magnificent. It is taunted as the bridal veil! There are upper deck and lower deck available for viewing. On the upper deck you can see the edge of the falls. And on the lower deck you  will be midway down the falls, a great spot for photography! You return back in the same path to reach the starting point. I think the upper deck is accessible with board walk. There is picnic area near the falls with tables and facilities available. You can skip the hike and instead drive to this point to view the water falls.

Over all the Stanford trail was satisfactory with the Brandywine fall at the end as a prize! I always think a falls at the end of the trail is like a cookie! Its worth the effort of hike to savor the cookie! Don't you agree?!

If you have any questions, leave it in the comments section.

Happy Hiking!
